The Greenville Young Democrats invite you to the Summit for Change on Saturday, September 2nd at the West End Community Center (404 Vardy Street, Greenville) from 1:00pm to 3:30pm.
The Greenville Young Democrats are hosting this summit to bring all organizations working to bring about progressive change in Greenville together to see how we can work together to push forward our agendas; to make our passion into policy. The best way to do that here in Greenville is to help elect progressive candidates to champion our causes. That begins with the upcoming elections we have in November in Greenville County. We want to here from you and we want you to hear from us.
This November, we will have three candidates on the ballot in Greenville County:
Lillian Brock Flemming– District 2, Greenville City Council
Russell Stall– At Large seat, Greenville City Council
Dexter Reaves– District 6, Greer City Council
They have agreed to address the Summit about their candidacies and what we all can do to support them.
What we begin to build here at this summit will not only benefit the Greenville community this year but will carry forward to 2018 with congressional races, solicitors’ races, the South Carolina gubernatorial race, and beyond.
Every organization that attends will have the opportunity to address the summit in 3-5 minute remarks and set up an information table for your organization. It will be great chance to network, share the great work you have done, and bring others to your cause.
Representatives from Upstate 100, Greenville Black Lives Matter, and From the Ground Up will also address the summit along with YDSC officers Jeni Atchley and Austin Jackson.
We look forward to learning about each other and seeing how we can help each other. The Greenville community needs us now, not only to keep protesting but to ensure we are electing leaders who will embody and fight for our ideals and values
